BEING GRATEFUL AT HOME, IN CHURCH AND AT THE HOSPITAL 4-27-17

Image
I live in an assisted living.   As you know assisted living residences prices are quite high, leaving you with little to no money, even for necessities. I have been sick a lot and need the acute care of the hospital more than I, or anyone would ever want! I love where I live! I've been blessed with strong, solid relationships since I moved here, while getting help. Most of my peers, (fellow residents) are kind and loving people that I have formed a friendly relationships with. A few of my friends and myself, are so close, that I couldn't imagine my life without them! My family, my friends and my church family have given me support in many ways! I love all of them! I am grateful and appreciative to them, so blessed by them and very fortunate that every one of them are in my life! Even when I have difficulties breathing and I'm am so sick, God is so Good! God has sent kind, loving, supportive and generous people into my

ALLERGY SEASON IN NEW ENGLAND 4-25-17

Image
It’s April in New England and the weather is going through rapid changes. It is also Allergy Season for me and for many others. It’s very warm one day, extremely cold the next and then rain for what seems like forever People, like me, who also have a respiratory illness, allergy season can be extremely serious. Then again, breathing can be difficult for anyone who can’t breathe adequately. Congestion, stuffy nose, watery eyes, sneezing, fatigue, and other symptoms is common with people at this time of the year in New England. The weather is not cooperating either. Yes, the weather, at this time, is not friendly to allergy sufferers and/or/ with people with respiratory conditions! Sleep, hydrating with liquids, hot tea, supportive people around and who be of assistance to you and contacts with your medical doctor(s) can also be helpful! ACHOO!                            Evelyn Pinto   April 25, 2017

THROUGH JESUS, A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD: EASTER 4-15-16

Image
A Lifelong Relationship with God: Easter With Easter and with other holidays, the day is, at times, more important than what it stands for. What Easter signifies is a lifelong relationship with Our Heavenly Father made possible through the crucifixion, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. Easter is made anew every second, every minute, every hour, and every day. All I have to do is believe. Once I believe and truly accepted Jesus, my life changed. As I changed, my life began to fall into place. I found comfort in total dependence on God. I live my faith with security in Jesus Christ. I live through a God-given security that, whatever happens, good or bad, I know I’ll be okay. This doesn’t mean my life will be easy. It certainly doesn’t mean terrible things will not happen. Life will happen, and with life, awful and joyful stuff will happen. As life does happen, there continues to be a calm peace in me. This peace is a gift from my Savio

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY, 4-15-17

Image
Random Acts of Random Day Saturday, April 15, is: "Random Acts of Kindness Day." This is a day where we do random acts of kindness for others. We do these kind actions to commemorate those who were affected and also, those who were killed in the Boston Marathon of 2013. It’s a way we show unity, courage, compassion, kindness and strength despite what happened at Boston marathon in 2013, the bad stuff that has gone on in the world, and what is still going on in our lives and in the world today. Let be kind to each other, especially on this day, as we remember those who gave it all. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone did kind gestures tomorrow, April 15th? Wouldn’t it be totally awesome if everyone was kind to each other each and every day? Boston Strong!               Evelyn Pinto               April 14, 2017 My Priority Is To Practice Kindness  And Do For Others, When I Can, Wherever I Can. Please Join Me and Practice

BARN BABIES VISIT 4-12-17

Image
Barn Babies came to visit the assisted living where I live. These precious, tiny creatures were baby farm animals There were baby ducks, rabbits, kittens, dogs and even a lamb (Jacob) and a pig, (Juliet). Juliet, the baby pig, ran around the TV room after being held several times by my friends and myself. Jacob, an adorable lamb, was held by some of us and ran through TV room, as well. These very young animals were comfortable and safe in my home, with all of us. Know something? I was more, at ease with these very young creatures, than I am with most people. I really, really want the lamb as my pet!           Evelyn Pinto           April 12, 2017

FUNDRAISER, FUN & FAMILY 4-9-17

I spoke at a fundraiser, "Comedy For A Cause", for Easter Seals of Mass. Easter Seals is an organization that helps children and adults with disabilities in all facets of  their lives. My mother and my niece accompanied me to the fundraiser and we stayed overnight in a hotel room provided for us by Jim and Meredith Dennison, who are members of the Board of Directors of Easter Seals of Massachusetts. This was a time to tell how the services I received from Easter Seals changed my life. It was also a family time where my mother, my niece and myself enjoyed time with each other in the hotel near to where this special function was held. This is the speech I prepared and recited at the fundraiser for Easter Seals, "Comedy For A Cause".                Evelyn Good Evening!   I would like to thank Jim Dennison, Paul Medeiros and Tara Esperitu for making this night possible. I would, also, like to thank Easter Seals for the worlds
