It's been a very, very long winter. The days are getting longer, the light of day is both earlier and later. Though snow is predicted Sunday night, the hope of Spring is definitely in the air. Outside, the wind has a ferocity that scares and amazes me. The snow, all the snow, so much snow with more coming. yes, we, in New Englanders, have been hit hard with blizzards, wild winds and an overabundance of snow. If it wasn't s cold as it is (It, with the wind chill factor, has gotten 25 degrees below zero) I would make snow angels and snow people. I miss my favorite, eating snowflakes from the sky. Yes, it is FREEZING here! I'm so grateful for so many people in my life. I'm very grateful for the people who came yesterday to celebrate the mass in our building. On February 14, 2015 (Valentine's Day), the priest, adults and children came and celebrated mass with all of  us in the senior building, where I live. I came prepared. I brought all kinds of paper, markers, crayons, cards and (my favorite), STICKERS! Stickers were the big hit with the children. Tonight, the sky danced in color! I bundled into my my winter clothing, braved the elements and trodden outside. It was utterly amazing! The sunset tonight, well, it totally took my breath away! It was glorious! The sky had more color than I've seen in a very long time! In the midst of the blizzards and all this snow that we, people of New England, have been surviving through, God presented us with a miracle, a wonderful, amazing miracle in tonight's sunset. My idea is that God wants to show us, in the midst of all this suffering, there is still beauty. In my youth, I remember that I had a lot of love, all of my family and many friends around, physically around, for support. I have my cell and laptop, which both make my life easier. I would rather have someone there with me, in the human form, instead of having the lifeless entity as the computer. I would prefer feeling someone's presence with me, as I go through the stuff life tosses at me. So many of us are plagued with trials and troubles in our lives. So many are experiencing troubles that are far beyond what we, personally, can control. It makes me very sad to see family and friends go through so much unbearable, intolerable pain, pain in themselves and for those we love and care about. It makes me so sad and I want to do what I can to take away all of your pain and and take away the reasons that keep you up nights. It's infuriating for me because I can't solve all of your problems but, I CAN do one better. I can give all your problems and pain, in prayer to God and ask Him to take away what has been so troubling to you, my family and friends. Don't worry, I'm praying for you all. This means smile, laugh and be joyful, despite the bad stuff in our lives. Give this stuff, unbearable stuff to God in prayer. If you can, help others whenever you can and wherever you are. This is what God is calling us to do. Christ's commandments to us are: Love God and Love others. Loving others is helping and being helped by each other. In life, we all are helpers and we also receive help from each other. We can help each other in big and small way.
