IT MADE MY DAY 2-24-17

Image
This Made My Day! My primary care assistant made my bed today. This kind soul sent me a message in a simple way, by making my bed in such a way that it made a huge difference in me This bed pad with shaped with a heart design, sprinkled in powder laying on a freshly made bed, created in me something positive! This genuine act of love and concern totally made my day!  Love, prayers and a new hope,                Evelyn Pinto               February 24, 2017

A DIFFICULT DAY IN THE HOSPITAL 2-23-17

Image
I woke up early this morning. It was not in my own bed. I woke in a hospital bed on a medical unit in the hospital where I receive my medical care. I washed up, put on a favorite perfume that I had with me and wore some of my nice jewelry. Because I am inpatient in the hospital, I still want to be me. I don't ever want to be so lost that I forget the person I am. Even in the vast world, a person can get so lost. Putting on my best stuff compliments even hospital jonnies. The perfume gives an aromatic flavor to what usually is a sterile hospital smell. I also feel better when I make the extra effort to do this.  Love and prayers,.  _                  Evelyn Pinto                February 24, 2017

We were all having a fabulous time at the Mardi Gras party at the building in which I live. Delicious refreshments were served. Festive music was playing. Loving friends partied and enjoyed the company of each other! Yes, a fabulous time was had by all! If there was any doubt, you know who the queen is!                       Evelyn Pinto                      February 22, 2017

A NEW CREATION 2-19-17

Image
This is a gift I recently received. This angel, from how it is put together, has turned into something fabulous! The artist made the angel out of ordinary items and made it extraordinary. You know something? That is what God does. God takes people who are broken, lost and weak people, and though Him, makes them a marvelous new creation! How wonderful our God is! The difference today is that it's Valentine's Day and it is also a day of love and, also, for having fun.  I'm having real, ecstaic fun wearing my rose-colored and heart shaped glasses. As you well know, I'm a great advocate of fun! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day! Friends, I'm single, or as I refer to it as:  "Individually Owned and Operated"! I don't have a significant other in my life! I like to see Valentine's Day as a celebration of love! So, my friends, I show love today to everyone I meet. MANGO,THE THERAPY DOG, VISITS 2-13-17

Image
Mango, the therapy dog, and her human, Corina, came to visit us at the residence in which I live.  Mango was quite popular with me and with my friends , who are also residents in the building in which we all live. I loved being with this fabulous animal. I even dropped to the floor to play with Mango.     I will tell you these 3 things my dear friends:  (1) It was totally amazing playing with my new 4 legged friend. (2) It easy getting down to the floor to play with Mango.  (3) It was very challenging trying to get back up! Thank you, Mango and Corina for visiting us! We enjoyed meeting and playing with you! Please come again and you can even bring your human!           Evelyn Pinto         February 13, 2017

WORDS 2-12-17

Image
Words uttered by others can be encouraging or damaging. An incident happened to me in which words were thrown at me in a judgmental, cruel way. Maybe the person had the intention of reasoning with me. Maybe she meant to explain an issue to me from her point of view. Her choice of words sounded more like self-righteous judgements that when she tossed them at me, in effect, I felt degraded, humiliated and hurt. Please use care when talking to people. You may think you have the right to humiliate, scold, correct or even tell a person what you think, from your limited and biased stand point. You do not have that right! If you have nothing to do with a situation or don’t truly know what is going on, do not feel the need to get involved. Don’t feel the unjust need to correct, or scold someone, that does not need correcting or scolding from you, especially by tearing him or her down, costing them their pride and dignity. Words can do much harm. Words can also be a s

MY GRATITUDE JAR 2-5-17

Image
I created a “Gratitude Jar”! Sickness plagues my body. Because of all these illnesses in my body, my emotions are all over the place. My life is an unpredictable and as unstable as my physical and emotional state. I also live in a time in which the world has taken upon a new craziness. In the midst of sickness, adversity, pain and craziness, I put together a “Gratitude Jar”! I put in this jar many papers of blessings. Yes, God has blessed me and blessed me abundantly! I have so much to be grateful for. I have been blessed by having a family who loves me and whom are there for me. I am especially indebted to my mother who still helps me out in so many ways. I am so appreciative to have loving friends who are loyal and supportive! I am filled with gratitude for the doctors, nurses, chaplains, respiratory therapists and for everyone at the hospital I go for my medical care. These compassionate, hardworking and loving souls always steer me to the pa

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE......2-1-17

Image
"This in the day that The Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it !" This does not mean smile and laugh even though we have trials, troubles, and lots of bad stuff happening. No! This means smile, laugh and be joyful, despite the bad stuff in our lives. Give this stuff, unbearable stuff to God in prayer. If you can, help others whenever you can, wherever you can. Do help! This is what God is calling us to do. Christ's commandments to us are: Love God and Love others. Loving others is helping and being helped by each other. In life, we all are helpers and we also, each one of us, receive help. We can help each other in big and small ways. I find that the most profound ways to help others comes from the heart.         Evelyn Pinto
