MY MOTHER'S BIRTHDAY, 90 YEARS YOUNG 8-30-19

Image
Dear Family and Friends, Tomorrow, August 31st, my mother, Gloria Pinto, will be 90 years young! If you happen to see, talk to or visit my mom, please give her a warm hug, kiss and wish her a wonderful birthday! My mother loves God, her children, grandchildren and really loves everyone! My mother does not use the internet but, can you all get creative and find a way to show your love for a woman who gives love freely and abundantly! The following script is what I wrote about my extraordinary mother! Thank you! My mother’s daughter, Evelyn (Pinto) August 30, 2019 My Mother, A Woman of Love and Wonder My Mother: “A Woman of Love and Wonder” When I think of my mother, I recall the days of my childhood. As a young age, I was convinced of this: My mother knew "everything"! In those early days of my childhood, my mother seemed to always know where I was and what I was doing. Like other children I grew up with, I assumed she had

A PARTY AT THE HOSPITAL 8-20-19

Yesterday, I was an honored guest at a Summer Party! Friends, who are chaplains at the hospital I go for my medical care, threw a party for me in the Coffee Shop at the hospital. The hospital is usually not associated with good times, especially a party! We associate the hospital with sickness, pain and sometimes even death. For me, I view the hospital as a location where I am placed on the Path of Wellness, after a sickness, by compassionate, caring and wonderful people. These professional people care about me enough, as a patient, to give treatment and care with medical expertise at a level of superior excellence. And then there are 2 of my favorite people, Beth and Mary, who are chaplains at the hospital. These friends are always loving, supportive, generous and kind to me and will always go above and beyond for anyone and everyone. Today, at the hospital, we enjoyed the company of one another while we partook of lunch in the C

TIA AND EVELYN, FRIENDS FOREVER 8-12-19

Tia and Kathy came to visit me today. Tia and Kathy traveled up to Boston from their home in Florida. Tia and I, Evelyn, met several years ago when we were students at Emmanuel College. As students at Emmanuel, we were both close. We were that friend to each other that we could go to one another for absolutely anything! Tia found me some years ago on Facebook. We rekindled that closeness that we used to have when we were both much younger. I realize with growing older, our friendships in Life mean so much more to us.. Though distance separates us physically, Tia and I are still close friends! I realize now that we are even closer than when we were both younger and students at Emmanuel College. In the process of aging, I believe that we become more mature and wiser. Incidents that used to bother me, don’t now. I see what is really important now. The friendship between Tia and myself has withstood time, sickness, distance and other things that would

FUN WITH FRIENDS 8-8-19

Fun with Friends             I love spending time with people. I cherish precious times with my friends and family. Sometimes, when we are all together, we become silly. What happened tonight when my friends, Johanne, Donna and myself got together, we were all being totally zany! It’s just that when Johanne and Donna and myself were together tonight, we not only enjoyed being in the company of each other but, we were totally being ourselves. Yes, we are total individuals, all 3 of us, and on this Tuesday night, we were emphatically having fun!                    Evelyn Pinto                     August 6, 2019

Dear Friends and Family, I’m “Home!” I was discharged from the hospital earlier this week. I am recovering from the Pneumonia and Sepsis, which could have killed me, where I feel most comfortable, at home. I am in my own apartment, among my familiar stuff. I live in a building where I am among close friends and nearer to other friends and family. My friends, after nearly 2 weeks in the hospital, I am overjoyed to be home! I was in the Medical Intensive Care Unit for 2 days and 2 nights. Afterwards, I was transferred to a medical telemetry unit for the remainder of my hospital stay. I persevered through it all thanks to the medical expertise of the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, hospital chaplains and the many other hospital personnel who worked tirelessly to save my life. The many people who prayed for me, I know, reached God, and helped immensely bring life to my sick and tired body. It was God and His Grace that saved me, proving again
