INSTEAD OF US AND THEM: "WE"!

Image
Instead of Us and Them, Perhaps “WE” I live in an assisted living. There are many people who live here and receive services. There are also staff who do various jobs that realistically should assist us in our daily lives. Being a person who receives medical care, services and treatment here, where I live and, also, the hospital I go to, I have realized the division between people who give help and people who receive help. This is strikingly visible in my community, the hospital I go to, in the world I live in and in Life. It seems to be “Us” and “Them”, when ideally it should be “WE”! I despise the division that has forced itself upon my community, my home and my life! With this division is an uneven balance of respect, dignity and credibility in favor of those who give services. I find that I continually fight for these traits of respect, dignity and credibility while those who give these services attain it automatically with their job, not by their charact

CHRISTINE'S HOUSE 6-19-18

Image
My niece and godchild, Christine and her daughter, Heather, lives in a wooden house in a rural area. Far from the city, my sister, Roberta, drove my mother, my niece and myself to see Christine and Heather. It was also Christine’s birthday! I loved being outside, as I sat on the bench swing. We feasted a gourmet meal of fried chicken and pizza We spent time playing basketball, and talking with each other, catching up on time lost time. This time with family was precious! We emotionally cuddled as dusk approached! My family and friends, it was a long ride home! And now I have a new “Happy Place”!                                                  Evelyn Pinto                                                  June 19, 2018

A VISIT WITH MY FAMILY 6-14-18

Image
My mother and 2 of my 3 sisters visited me yesterday! The visit with my mother and my 2 sisters, Roseanna and Terry, was wonderful and joyful! My family is so, very important to me! My mother is simply amazing! My 3 sisters are marvelous people and my best friends! My brother tries and, at times, is sincere! My family, though we are not always together, we’re there for each other! I have been blessed by being born into this community called “My Family”! With sincerity, love and gracious gratitude,                                               Evelyn Pinto                                               June 14, 2018
