The Medical Profession: Problems 5-6-2024
There have been countless advances in the medical field.
These fascinating evolutions have saved my life and the lives of countless others!
These medical miracles have improved the lives of multitudes and have also created paths of wellness in
the lives an infinite number of others!
Though this is fascinating news and it all benefits humankind, there are serious
problems in the presentation of medical treatment.
How medical professionals communicate with their patient(s) can steal the worth and good out of these medical miracles.
Through these medical marvels are wondrous, it feels to me that needed changes need to brought forth in how well these medical professionals communicate with their patient(s).
People with serious and chronic health conditions, especially those who require more medical care and treatments, like myself, know well that the Healthcare System needs improvements that would benefit the people who need the services! Those who train these medical professionals the many who work directly with the patient(s), can do better, a lot better!
People who need medical care and treatments also need to be talked to, be understood and feel they are the main participant in their own treatment and care.
There are times, especially when a person becomes a patient in the hospital, feels that the patient is left out of their own treatment and care.
Unfortunately the manners in which Healthcare is presented to the patients is still totally in the Dark Ages!
Being in my seasoned years, I pray that doctors, nurses and other medical
professionals would rely more on the words, testimonies, knowledge and the life experiences of the healthcare recipient.
L, or actually no reliance on written in the patients' medical chart(s), patient(s) notes and what those who have credibility only because there are medical initials with their names.
It's totally crazy that the credibility these people own is with their occupation and not due to the personal they are, their character, their beliefs are how they present themself to their patient(s).
Complications, difficulties, hindrances, obstacles and problems always develop
when doctors, nurses and other medical professionals highly rely on a what’s written about their patient(s), what in their medical chart, what people write and what others, especially others who have never met them, say about the patient(s)!
Patients are rarely given opportunities to talk about their illness(es), what they're experiencing, how they are feeling, their worries and their frights!
Not giving or allowing a person, the healthcare recipient, to talk about what’s
going on in their own body and their own mind is a dangerous decision that
healthcare employes do!
The person (patient) who are receiving treatment
and care also in addition are exposed to trauma, pain, hurt and another worry unnecessarily done to them by those who should never do harm, place them in more stress, pain and hurt in addition to what the patient(s) are suffering from their illnesses.
The patient places their life into the hands the people who are supposed to heal, care and place them on the Road to Wellness.
It's a total betrayal when those who took an oath to heal and do no harm cause pain, more stress and trauma to the person they have entrusted the body, mind and life to!
Even more of a travesty is not informing or explaining the results of tests taken,
information from other medical professionals and, also, not correcting the errors,
bias, facts and false information that is decorated throughout the patients’
medical charts.
It is totally disastrous for the patients when they are not given the opportunities
to participate in their own treatment and care.
Not being informed about test results, new medications, their treatments, etc.. and
decisions affecting those who happen to be a patient, the independence and power to decide what is right for them and what the individual person wants are the 1st priorities!
The rights of a person receiving medical care and treatments have the rights to know side effects of treatments, alternative treatments and other alternatives need to be observed, followed and taken seriously!
Most important, every person who is receiving medical and treatment should always be aware of their right to say “NO”!
As I have said, I am advanced in my age, in my seasoned years and living with
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Asthma, Congested Heat Failure, other respiratory diseases + several
various other chronic medical conditions.
Honesty among my healthcare providers with me, their patient, is vital tand Ithe healthcare professional should always be worthy of the trust their patient(s) place in them!
Explaining to me, with honesty and concern, the results of the medical tests I have taken and explaining what I can do to improve the quality of my life, talking with me about my life choices is consequential and how I can live the best life despite going through serious and life threatening medical conditions.
Explaining treatments, medications, problems and
communications and listening to me, actually hearing me is critically essential to me and my
wellbeing!
Listening to me means not relying on patient notes about me, information in my
medical chart and what others say about me!
Listening to me is actually simple!
Listening to me is actually hearing me, having the desire to know me, being present with me and seeing me!
If you, and the other medical professionals who treat me, really want to help me and
want the best for me, it's simple:
"Listen To Me!"
"Know Me!"
"Hear Me!"
"See Me!"
With sincerity, hope, prayers, love and with a huge dose of fatigue,
