EVELYN'S VIEWS ON MEDICINE 1-29-19

MEDICINE: "An Educated Guess".
The more specialized the doctor is, the more educated the guess is!
The patient is in trouble when the doctor is under the delusion that he knows everything about the problem(s) causing the patient’s illness.
The patient enters disaster mode when the doctor is convinced that he knows more about the patient, than the patient does about himself or herself!..
Don't Walk - "Run" away from a doctor who knows "everything"!
That's a dangerous person who thinks he/she is God!
This person has to be immediately reminded that the position of God has already been filled!
This doctor is delusional, narcissistic or dwells in a weird psychosis.
In other words, he has problems!
Coming into medicine with medical issues, we certainly do not need the doctor's problems.
Oh we, patients when dealing with many doctors, we need more than medicine, we need “prayers”!
This is especially true when at the mercy of some doctors who push for the quickest and strongest treatment(s) to cure the illness/
The cure may be risky and sometimes the treatment may be worse than the disease.
We people as patients must be so careful!
We have to hold our trust in our pockets and hope for doctors who want to get to know us.
We need medical professionals who can form a good, trusting relationship with us, as their patients.
Emergency room medicine: I would suggest “only” in an emergency!
Emergency Room treatments are fast, strong and these ER doctors are used to saving lives.
Even if your medical problem is not a life or death matter, they may want to save your life anyway.
The treatments can (I'm not saying would) cause eventual harm and might even lead to an inpatient hospitalization.
My friends, stick with doctors who don't know everything, who are honest and who don't know all the answers.
Definitely avoid doctors who are off to cure the world!
We patients have to use our own intelligence and gut feeling to find a doctor who would be suited for our individual physical, medical, spiritual and emotional needs.
I would devote my time and trust and to look for an honest, experienced, compassionate, capable, competent and caring doctor.
These particular doctors are still around.
Shop with care for a doctor, whose personality suits your own personality.
A sense of humor helps a lot!
Laughter can relieve stress for the patient as well as the doctor!
Prayers definitely help!

*These are only my opinions & observations.
My current education is observing doctors, very closely, while getting to know them from the other side of the health care spectrum.
