CHRSITMAS OF 2020 12-24-2020

Image
The year 2020 has been a difficult year for me and for so many of us. The political climate in the United States of America is, and has been for the past 4 years, in a total disastrous uproar. It has gotten worse now that our now president refuses to concede as he has placed our country in imminent danger on the way out of his presidency. The Pandemic of 2020 has been raging in full force in the United States and the world. I, as well as many other humans, are frightened, fearful and sick, either physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually or all of the above. Its Christmas time and I, taking the advice of the scientific community and the wiser leaders, choose, while carrying my broken heart, not be with my mother and other members of my family over the Christmas holiday. I’m sad, fearful and feel alone in this and other situations. I do, though, know that others are feeling the same and/or similar feelings. I feel helpless, my dear friends! When all I can do is pray...

THE SNOW STORM OF 2020 12-17-2020

Image
The Snow Storm of 2020 2020 has been a difficult year! There is, and has been most of this year, a pandemic raging. The political climate has not been conducive for serving the people. There is hope, my friends! A new president has been elected and will be in office in January, 2021. And, my dear friends, there are vaccines that will be available that could close the door on this pandemic. My friends, there is a snow storm today! The snow is piled up past my 1 st floor window. The roads are difficult to get through and our governor of Mass. has urged that everyone that could stay home, do stay home. Adventurous me, who loves rain, thunder, lightning and even snow storms decided to bear the elements and go outside. I, with my winter jacket tightly zipped and boots on, traveled through the front of the building in which I live. My friends, these pictures illustrate what I saw. The snow, fluffy, white and wet, itched my nose as this white stuff decorated m...

A FRIENDSHIP CHRISTMAS TREE 12-3-2020

Image
Joanie and Evelyn's Friendship Christmas Tree! My best friend, Joanie gave it to me because she has a cat. Anyone who has a cat knows how these rambunctious beings jump into stuff and get into everything. Joanie and I decorated this Christmas Tree together this morning. It was a team effort! This Christmas Tree was not only wrapped in lights and ornaments but, told a story of  a resilient   and close friendship. Evelyn Pinto December 3, 2020

A TUSDAY NIGHT SUNSET 11-13-2020

Image
A Tuesday Night Sunset In these days where a Pandemic is raging, uncertainties in our government are on display and I, like other human beings, am stressed out to the max. Today, though, I stopped and I paused. I glanced at others I knew the love, pain and grief of the human existence, which was bottled up in the moment. I had stumbled outside last night, just before dusk, and was captivated by the sunset. I praised God for presenting me with gift of magnificence, a Tuesday night sunset. I gazed at the sunset, which lasted only minutes. I was totally amazed at this art, which could’ve only been created by God. The brevity of this phenomenon astounded me. I cuddled the last moments of this sunset. I prayed for this miracle, of the sunset, to last a bit longer. Darkness began to veil the sky as the sunset disappeared. I praised God for allowing me to see the Work of His hands, A Tuesday Night Sunset. Evelyn Pinto November 11, 2020

DEAR PRESIDENT ELECT BIDEN AND VICE PRESIDENT ELECT HARRIS, 11-8-2020

Image
Dear President elect Biden and Vice President elect Harris, First, I would like to congratulate you both for winning this long and wearisome election. Thank you both for working diligently, with the people of your campaign, to win and become our next president and vice president! I live in an assisted living in Mass. I am 65 years young. My hopes are that you can unify our divisive and crying country. I have wept when black men have been killed by the police. I know the police wear many hats. Perhaps more training as well as mental health professionals accompanying them on calls, that involve people in emotional distress, may be one answer. I have mourned when my friends have died, many from this Coronavirus. My heart has torn when families don’t have the needed finances to pay their rent, buy food and pay other necessary bills. I have cried hearing of children going hungry. I, myself get seriously ill and require the acute se...

HALLOWEEN 2O2O, DURING A PANDEMIC 10-30-2020

Image
Halloween, 2020, During A Pandemic  It’s October 30 th , the day before Halloween. I, myself, not a great fan of Halloween, decided to get dressed for the occasion anyway. You see, the Activity Director, Lin, and our intern, Brittany, were having a safe distanced chanted Halloween event in our Activity Room. I decided to celebrate the occasion by using whatever I had in my closet and in various other places in my apt, and make a costume. My friends, these photos showed what I looked like. Due to this current Coronavirus currently plaguing my city, our country and the world, I wore a mask to cover my mouth and nose, in addition to my Halloween mask. Thank you to our Activities Director, Lin, and our intern, Brittany, for not only creating and sponsoring this scary Halloween Event, especially in these difficult and frightening times. Lin and Brittany not only give inspiration to the people here, where I live, they both inspired, and continue to inspire me! Evelyn Pint...

A Birthday Party A Cherished Time With Loving Friends Yesterday, October 26 th , was my birthday. Living through several months in a Pandemic, residing in an assisted living, where all of us have serious medical conditions, and seeing the craziness in the world today, my dear friends, Donna and Johanne, threw me a surprise Birthday party! My family and friends, whom I love and support, have also been supportive and loving to me. Friends and family have generously given me gifts and countless Birthday cards. The surprise Birthday party, that Donna and Johanne planned and executed, was totally unexpected. The Birthday party included deep chocolate cake, Ice Cream, an assortment of chips, cheese, soda, candy and other sweets, flowers, presents and an enormous amount of Love. It was an extraordinary time with loving, cherished friends! Thank you, Donna and Joh...

PEOPLE NEED HELP, NOT INSULTS 10-20-2020

Image
I  saw a post where people who welfare were insulting to people were insulted and called lazy. It sickened me! People are sick. People get sick. Children get sick. Sometimes one salary cannot pay all the bills. And now with Covid-19 people are in real, honest to goodness need. Do not ever insult or talk down on people who collect Welfare because they are in need of help. Do not insult them, "ever"! People are, and have been, going through difficult times. People do not have to throw insult are their brother or sister of Humankind. You may, someday, be in need of help yourself! Instead of insulting people, try kindness, love, humility, concern for others and charity. Love and prayers, Evelyn Pinto October 20, 2020

A PRICELESS TIME WITH FRIENDS 9-26-2020

Image
A Priceless Time with Friends: A Pizza Party I love being with and spending time with my family and friends. I am also a great advocate of “FUN”! On the night of September 26 th , a few friends, Donna, Johanne, Greg and I celebrated an evening of music, pizza, laughter and fun! We had pizzas, chicken wings, salad and onion rings delivered from a neighborhood pizza place. We ate, we talked, we laughed and we celebrated friendships! It was a splendidly spectacular evening and enjoyable time had by all! We made a promise to each other that we would plan a meal together in the future. At the end of our magnificent time together, we dragged our tired bodies out of Johanne’s apartment and returned to our own apartments, where we rested for the remainder of the night. Yes, this Saturday was definitely a memorable and amusing time for us all! Evelyn Pinto (a boundless advocate of fun) September 27, 2020
