SINGLE AT 60 8-11-16

I am a single woman at 60 years old and I've never married.
I began to think about my singlehood.
Then it began to sink in:
I never had a bridal shower, wedding shower, wedding, baby shower or anything like that.
Folks, I never even had any diamonds!
I delve into these moments of missing out on what most woman have or had.
Ladies, I've missed out on Life!
I didn't go on the journey that most woman embrace.
Then again, I've never been one to conform to standards or go by any written or unwritten rules.
Yes, I've chosen a different path,
My journey is vehicle that I'm supposed to ride.
There were some paths I would not have chosen to be on.
There were some stops on my journey that brought me so much love, laughter and joy,  I would give almost anything to relive them again.
Yes, my friends, my life is not the most conventional or easy.
My life is filled with love and with amazing people who've I've been fortunate enough to know, love, support, and spend the most marvelous times with.
My life, by society's standards, would score on the low side.
I do not care at all of what society's standards are.
I know I have what is important in life!
I have in my life; faith, love, family, friends and others,  who all support me medically, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually!
I've been blessed with loving, supportive relationships!
Most important, I have a relationship, a personal relationship with my God!
With my relationship with God, situations may happen.
Even when  the bad stuff happens, having the peace that Jesus brings, I  know I'll be okay!
Thank you, Jesus!
